welcome to the blog

So the 2012-2013 Wedding season has drawn to a close, warm jackets on now as winter weddings get closer! Now that things are a little quieter I’ve had the chance to revisit some of the seasons weddings – what a year its been! I just want to say a huge THANK YOU to all of the fantastic couples that have welcomed me into their lives and trusted me to photograph their special day. Without exception everyone that I’ve had the pleasure of working with has been an  AMAZING!

The weather of course has been stunning (though 38 degrees in the shade in Masterton one Saturday was definitely on the warm side!). I’ve never had so much sunburn whilst at work before – its been a great year to be a wedding photographer in Wellington!!! I’ve had the pleasure of meeting so many amazing people, and the privilege of photographing their wedding days in some of the best wedding venues in wellington and beyond! Old St Pauls Church is still one of my favourite wedding venues close to home, such a magical building with so much history. It was bittersweet that I got the chance to shoot the last wedding at Erskine hall last year, I hope that they earthquake strengthen quickly and open their doors to some new weddings soon! Same also with Pounui Homestead in the Wairarapa that has closed to weddings for good, their last wedding was a cracker though!

Outside of Wellington I’ve shot weddings throughout Kapiti (Southwards Car Museum is one of my favourite Kapiti coast wedding venues) and several weddings in the Greytown and Martinborough region. I’ve also had the chance to shoot out at The Landing in Masterton a few times and have really enjoyed their venue – as a photographer there are so many awesome spots really close by, and even some scary wildlife out on the farm (scroll down)! I could go on and on, there are so many cool places to get married around Wellington! Wellington waterfront is a wedding photographers paradise – there are just too many spots  to mention and the Botanical Gardens continue to blow me away with great light (read shade!) and unbelievable colour.

2013-2014 looks like its going to be a fantastic year as well with some VERY exciting wedding locations already booked in… volcanoes and helicopters are just the beginning!

Here are some of my favourite wedding photographs from 2012 – thanks again everyone!
