With their Waikanae wedding coming up this weekend we dashed out to the Kapiti Coast this week for Monica and Murray’s Engagement shoot and Location scout early this week. It was one of those magical Kapiti Coast evenings, big blues skies and a warm(ish) breeze and it was a real pleasure getting to hang out with Monica and Murray and take advantage of the beautiful light! A great way to spend an evening hard at work;-) Here are a few shots from our shoot.

I aim to do an engagement/test shoot with all wedding couples prior to their wedding as it gives us chance to get to know each other a little and also gives people some valuable experience in front of camera. I often get really useful feedback of which locations and styles work best, meaning I can tailor my approach on the big day. When wedding day comes around everyone feels comfortable and relaxed and ready to enjoy themselves when we are taking photos! I find engagement shoots so invaluable that last year I changed them from an optional extra to being included in all wedding packages.
